At dinner’s end, in Tuscany, it was in use to offer a basket of hard biscuits and a carafe of sweet wine and spend the evening away in conversation dipping the biscuits in the wine until the biscuits runs out. Dunk the almond biscuits in the holy wine. Unique!!

Vanilla ice cream drawn in a shot of strong Italian espresso coffee.

At Medicean tables in the 16th century, ice cream was served at the end of a banquet as a digestive. It was usually vanilla flavoured and at times a tinge of jam or wood berries would be added. We serve it with morello cherries.
